Vermont Av 90027 in Los Feliz Theatresports™ style short from improv games are fundamental to learning and understanding how to improvise. The games emphasize accepting and building on one-another's ideas, cooperation, active listening, embracing failure, creative problem solving, playing for the joy of playing and much more. The games and format of Theatresports™ are fun, simple to pick-up and challenging. Playing them builds confidence and creates a sense of connectedness and belonging for all participants. All the skills we work on for Theatresports™ style short from games translate directly to successfully creating narrative improv scenes, "long-form" improv forms and of course, the ensemble-created narrative unscripted plays that Impro Theatre has become known for. Our origins in Theatresports™ are clear: "Impro" is the title of Johnstone's definitive book on the subject. Theatresports™ is an improv performance structure pioneered by Keith Johnstone which takes the form of a fast paced, action packed, competitive game combining wit, humour and performance skill. The show's building blocks are these short form improv games. Theatresports™ performances are fun, energetic and exhilarating for players and audience alike. TV credits include This Is Us, Black-ish, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, After Lately, The Mentalist, Monk, Conan O’Brien, Law & Order, Celebrity Deathmatch, Guiding Light. and two comedy specials he co-created for Comedy Central. He’s been the voice of several TV shows including: NFL Replay, NFL Sound FX, Chelsea Lately on E!, Property Ladder on TLC and Car Kings on Discovery Network. He’s been a voice on KCRW FM and Eclectic 24 in L.A.
