Service Description

POSTPONED - A TWO DAY CLASS SATURDAY & SUNDAY -- 2024 1:30PM- 5:30PM $200 total includes both days In this two day workshop we delve into the mode of play of the clown. The style that this workshop is concerned with is what one might call the European or Nouveau American clown, where students develop the spirit of playfulness. Participants will engage in exercises in physical acting that enhance the performer's physical expression and vocabulary, and clown awareness games that help us get to a clown state of play. We will endeavor to shed our day-to-day physicality and emotional control to discover what it feels like to exist in a world where physicality and emotions are not restrained or habitual, but fluid and changeable; where we can play openly rather than close ourselves off in a protected, siloed state. Though there is no experience required, participants must be willing to be exceedingly vulnerable and fail with exuberance! Amos Glick A professional performer for over 30 years, Amos' pursuits have been primarily concerned with physical comedy, clowning and improvisation. He spent 15 years as a collective member of the Tony Award-winning SF Mime Troupe, 9 years as a clown in Le Reve (Las Vegas) and is a veteran improviser (Impro Studio/LAB, Fraudway LA, BATS, Tonal Chaos). He conceived and directed clown numbers for OK, OK The Amos Glick Variety Show, Reveria (Bucharest), Zambooka (Norwegian Cruise Lines), Dirty Mimes, The Dick n' Dubya Show and Ms. Charlamay (Award-winning Contortionist).
